Until the creation of the Fenty brand, she was known as the unprecedented pop star, Rihanna. Robin Rihanna Fenty is one of the most successful musicians of her time, as her passion for making music, talent for performing, and ability to connect with fans have made her a nonstop sensation in the industry.
It was not until she dipped her toes in a new pond that we realized there is much more talent than meets the eye. Rihanna has recently ventured into a new industry; fashion. With the conception of her fashion brand Fenty, in addition to her cosmetic brand Fenty Beauty, Rihanna explores her appetite for makeup and luxury fashion. The collections are just as unique and tasteful as you would expect them to be coming from Rihanna, with flavor and spunk that are too irresistible to pass up.
Thus far, Fenty has been known for its show stopping lingerie collection, titled Savage Fenty. The sexy, sophisticated yet fun pieces are high quality and compliment any body type. But, there’s a new Fenty in town, and her name is 7-20. In collaboration with Amina Muaddi, this fierce female duo captures the boldness and strength of women in modern shoe designs. The collection is especially admirable as it celebrates the creativity and genius of artistic women, and embodies the electrifying energy maintained throughout the entire Fenty brand.
With designs that include square toe soles, braided straps and mesh fabrics, the collection has the ability to fulfill the desire of every woman’s closet. One of the most admirable aspects of the 7-20 collection is the heel itself, the only piece of the different silhouettes that remains the same, designed to hold up each shoe and support the strong woman who is wearing it.
Though this is the last release of the Fenty Summer collection, it is the first ever release of shoes for the brand. The designs are breathable and allow the wearer to remain comfortable in the heat of summer, but by no means fall short of attraction or originality. It comes as no surprise that Rihanna and Amina’s creativity and brilliance have created Fenty’s newest, and perhaps most desirable, collection.

Being a black gay creative for me feels liberating but at the same time there’s pressure. Pressure in needing to express yourself to a white society, that you are enough; what feels like having to explain my existence. having to explain why who I am and the art I produce is more than a hyper sexual view, but just what it is, art - expression, my expression.

2021 will be a wild ride for fashion lovers and style enthusiasts everywhere. With us still being in the middle of a pandemic and changes are happening with the way consumers shop, it will definitely give way to how differently people dress and style themselves. Here are a few trend predictions that may give way in 2021.
Fashion lovers and style enthusiasts rejoice. The Pantone’s Color of the Year for 2021 is here and not only did they announce one color but two! The two colors selected will be Ultimate Gray (PANTONE 17-5104) and Illuminating (PANTONE 13-0647) as the shades for Pantone's Color of the Year 2021. Black Women are Human Too
I’m Black. I’m also Human
In society today the toughest job to be is a black woman as we are currently on a daily fight to end societal injustices that we’ve taken for so long. As the fight continues we face battles against hatred from the world, within our families, in the workplace, and within our relationships.
In all the progress of time we've made as black women to stick together and be on the same side empowering each other, there are still those who haven’t grown into the movement for the betterment of themselves.
As we know domestic violence is no laughing matter; rapper Megan Thee Stallion has recently been through a traumatic ordeal of being shot in the foot by rapper boyfriend Tory Lanez having dealt with being in a toxic relationship. As many celebrities have shown their love and support, influencer and former Basketball Wives star Draya Michelle has received some backlash for going on the Wine&Weed podcast and joking about it.
Draya’s comments were encouraging of treatment that so many women today are fearful of daily either currently dealing with abuse and domestic violence or recovering from it. She went on to say she wants a man to scare her into acting right in a relationship and it can only be assumed that she is ignorantly speaking from lack of experience because no woman in their right mind would wish for such toxicity in their life.
Currently, Draya makes her fortune as an Instagram influencer while also having her own small business running a swimsuit line MintSwim. She has modeled for many fashion brands including SavagexFenty owned by mogul Rihanna.
As the world knows and still remembers the domestic violence Rihanna faced in 2009 with ex-boyfriend Chris Brown, the mogul found no humor in Draya’s comments following Megan Thee Stallion’s ordeal and ended the partnership with Draya then sending a heartfelt note to the rapper showing her love and support for the trauma she is currently facing.
Shortly after being released from the Fenty brand, Draya took to social media to post a message saying she’s “fighting through the tough days”. Fans took this to mean she had lost her Fenty partnership as they continue to show disapproval. While Draya Michelle is the most noticeable for her comments, it is still disgraceful to see a couple of other celebrities make humor of the ordeal including Chrissy Teigen and 50 Cent who have since deleted their comments on social media and issued apologies for their insensitive remarks.
For black women, it is a trend to be mistreated and desensitize as the most disrespected in relationships including abuse and infidelity. Black women are rapidly the butt of the joke then turned into a meme. Although black women are strong, they are not bulletproof. Black women don’t receive medals for surviving, they just have scars; physically and emotionally.

Who’s ready for the lipstick of the summer? Fenty Beauty recently announced it would be releasing a summer launch of its new Slip Shine Sheer Shiny Lipstick. Rihanna, founder of Fenty Beauty, calls the lipstick a “go-to when I want to slip on something that’s comfortable and looks good.”
Created with a belief in inclusivity, this glossy, sheer lipstick comes in ten slip-on shades that are universally flattering on all skin tones. The shade range encompases both everyday nudes and pops of color ranging from clear to deep berry to peach pink. Encompassed in Fenty’s sleek, classic hexagonal packaging, the product is 100% cruelty free. The Slip Shine Lipstick also contains conditioning pomegranate oil, which will keep your lips glossy and hydrated while staying comfortable and sheer. With its range of colors and easy application, this product is a perfect grab-and-go to look flawless in any situation, whether it be a night out or the office.
The release is slated to be yet another success for Fenty Beauty. Fenty is a game-changer beauty brand because it released a groundbreaking 40 shades of its Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation in 2017. The wide shade-range touted a match for all skin tones, and its inclusivity highlighted other brands’ lack of shades for people of color. Fenty’s release prompted a discussion of diversity and inclusivity in the makeup industry. The brand continued its mission of inclusivity with the Pro Filt’r Instant Retouch Concealer offering 40 shades and the Gloss Bomb Universal Lip Luminizer with colors for all skin tones.
As Fenty Beauty continues improving diversity and inclusivity in the beauty industry, we look forward to its upcoming releases. You can find the Slip Shine Sheer Shiny Lipstick on the Fenty Beauty, Sephora, Boots UK, or Harvey Nichols websites starting June 20. Each lipstick retails for $22 each.

Rihanna Shuts Down Fenty in Honor of Blackout Tuesday
While many celebrities posted on their personal social media, Rihanna took it upon herself to promote this cause on her business platforms
Blackout Tuesday, a now famous hashtag on social media applications such as Instagram and Twitter, was promoted by activists to observe, mourn and bring about policy change in the wake of the death of George Floyd.
While many celebrities posted on their personal social media, Rihanna took it upon herself to promote this cause on her business platforms and in result, has closed all three of her profitable brands – cosmetics company Fenty Beauty, Lingerie line Savage x Fenty, and LVMH-helmed Luxury line FentyShe temporarily to raise public awareness and encourage the Black Lives Matter movement.
On Fenty’s Instagram page she writes, “FENTY as a brand was created to elevate beauty, power and freedom! At this very moment racists are attempting to rip those values away from Black people and we will NOT stand by and let that happen. We are too powerful, creative and resilient. In support of the Black community, we will be donating funds to Color of Change and Movement for Black Lives. We ask you to speak up, stand up, and pull up against racism and discrimination in all forms. We are not staying silent and we are not standing by. The fight against racial inequality, injustice, and straight up racism doesn’t stop without any movement.”

Savage x Fenty Teams up with Megan Thee Stallion for Their 2020 Campaign
Rihanna’s lingerie line, Savage X Fenty, has announced Megan Thee Stallion as their 2020 brand partner.
Rihanna’s lingerie line, Savage X Fenty, has announced Megan Thee Stallion as their 2020 brand partner. The collaboration deemed #SavageXTheestallion, is part of the brand’s community-led summer campaign where brand partners, ambassadors and influencers take photos from inside their homes. The brand is teaming with mixed media artist Rafatoon to put together the campaigns.
The “Savage” and “Hot Girl” singer was given this opportunity with Savage X Fenty after she helped launch TikTok’s account in April with the #SavageChallenge. From the app, she was seen modeling the brand’s lingerie while dancing along to her hit song, Savage. The challenge has become viral and has nearly 800 million views.
When interviewed about the collaboration, Rihanna said “Meg is the energy we were looking for. She is a risk-taker with an attitude, character and personality.”
In the first campaign shots, Megan is seen wearing a yellow lace bra, paired with a matching thong. Another shot shows Megan on top of a leather chair featuring the same lingerie that she wore from the original #SavageChallenge video.
The collaboration will feature fits of all available sizes, from 32A-42H and XS on www.savageX.com, Amazon.com, ASOS.com and Zalando.com and is nothing short of classy, bougie and ratchet.

At the rise of Covid-19 many of us first questioned the timeline of fashion week and would we see the regular calendar continue - the question weighed over many of us for months! It was refreshing to see design houses and designers across the globe take advantage of the uncertainty and plow into production mode - thus my interest in Jerri Reid New York - The Black Designer based in Brooklyn New York wow’d instagram with his latest collection paying homage to the Black Is King film which debuted earlier this year in July. I was taken aback at quick of a turn round the young designer produced and released his well crafted designs reflecting some of the films most memorable moments.

After witnessing the backlash from Simone Biles Vogue cover I had to sit aside and ponder: Why is it so challenging for some photographers to capture the beauty of black skin/people? Our undertones, our glow, even the texture of our hair. So, like always I went looking for methods to best capture dark skin.
This spicy blackberry and plum sauce recipe was a push for something different and will now be my go to condiment for the summer season.

Fenty's So Fetch
This outfit continues to prove that Rihanna’s style is both edgy and chic.
In London on February second, the star Rihanna was caught rocking her new high end Fentys pumps. The name of the party was called “British Vogue and Tiffany & Co Celebrate Fashion and FIlm. The party took place at Annabel’s after the BAFTA awards. Rihanna arrived at 3:30 am which was seemingly fashionably late to the event in a pair of big crystal earrings by Alessandra Rich, a Shay black diamond heart ring, a dark Fenty ensemble, and black Fenty pumps.
At her entrance, the party grew longer in the famous stars honor. The outfit that she wore, as seen in the pictures was an oversized black jersey hoodie, high waisted extra long palazzo pants in Jet Black satin, a Dior satin saddle bag, and on her feet was a pair of Fenty’s pointed black pumps in black. This outfit proved that Rihanna’s style is both edgy and chic. The outfit itself cost more then 1,000 dollars which is a bit on the expensive side for some. Although the outfit is somewhat pricey it is gorgeous nonetheless. This shows that Rih has an interesting style that is high in demand. The fashionista always makes a grand imprint within the fashion industry which is loved by many. Every young trendy woman should have a hot all black look, so shop Fenty for yours!
