Three Steps to Creating a More Trustworthy Brand
If you are looking to build a brand for your business, then you need to think about the product that you use and how you can make money from it. However, this isn’t the only thing to consider when you start to build up your business. Your branding really does play a part because you need to think about what customers will think of your brand. Your branding will give off a certain perception to customers which is an important part of creating a company that is successful.
Think of some of the brands that you know and love. Are they known for being reliable, eco-friendly, or having great customer service? On the flip side, what brands do you look at and just feel that they are untrustworthy? This is not a good place to be for your own brand, as how you are perceived by customers, including how trustworthy your brand seems, can play a big part in your success. Look at big brands like Volvo, for example. They have a certain reputation for making quality products like engines, so when they branched out into maritime engines with the Volvo Penta, they already had the trustworthy reputation that meant people wanted to use it for their boats. So, if you want to create a brand that is seen as reliable and trustworthy, then here are some things to think about.
Be transparent with your customers
How do you think that people will become able to trust you? This will be through being honest, of course. If you hide things or act suspiciously, then it will automatically make you look like an untrustworthy brand. In fact, there has been research into who trusts brands the most, and millennials were found to be the least trusting. So if they are your target audience, then you do have a long way to go to make sure that you are clear and honest with them about all aspects of the business.
Give customers a glimpse into the human side of the business
By using social media and video content, you can really help to show that there is a human side to your business. For example, by using Instagram, you can showcase your products in the photos that you post, but you could show what goes on in the office or what you do when new inventory comes in, through videos and snippets on your Instagram stories. This helps followers get to know you and shows that you’re not some large corporate machine and that there are real people behind the business. This can help your brand to be more trustworthy, for sure.
Build a relationship with customers
Some of the best brands have the most loyal customers. Having loyal customers means that they love what you do and they are happy with the service they have received from you; this can make a big difference to your brand as a whole. They will recommend you and keep coming back, so think about how you can build relationships with your customers to ensure that they trust you and are loyal to you.
Running a successful business can feel like walking on a tightrope while juggling multiple swords at once, both high adrenaline and exhausting. Success requires knowing when and what aspects of business require precision planning versus those you can leave to chance, whether that be startup superstardom or veteran CEOship.
