January has gone by fast. Very fast. To think we are already on our way to February in the new year can drive you to panic a bit. You may have resolutions you haven’t started yet and even got a bad start in the new year. No worries, this is the time to reflect and plan for the rest of the year. Here are some tips on how you can reflect and reset for the rest of the first quarter of 2021.

Firstly, take the time to write out all of the pros and cons of your first three weeks of January. What were some accomplishments (no matter how big or small) and what were some things you wished you could change. Use those items to help you pivot whatever problems you have for the rest of the first quarter. If you interviewed for a job but didn’t get it, list the reasons why you think you didn’t get the position and work on those challenges. Maybe even reach back out and talk with the company as a follow up to better understand where you may or may not have gone wrong. It’s always a good time to reflect but using this time to do it will only help enhance the rest of your year.

This is also a great time to plan out the rest of the first quarter. Try to list out five goals that you can accomplish by the end of March. They don’t have to be too big, just something that can help you stay motivated. It can be reaching out to a friend you haven’t heard from in awhile or completing an art project that you wanted to complete. Planning out a few things you want to accomplish and get done is another way to feel motivated for the rest of the year. Of course, you don’t want to add pressure on yourself. It’s ok to also just want to live life and go with the flow as well. As long as you take the time out to know what you want out of this year and reflect on what has happened so far, you will be ok.
