NYFW: AMCONYC Fashion Week F/W 16

New York Fashion Week. Part of our fashion week consisted of viewing shows produced by AMCONYC at Studio 450. NKC had the privilege of viewing two new collections from The KUR Collection and Éva Michelle Designs. Here's her recap of the show's and overall experience. She'll take you through her Post Influencer Interview with Hanna Tucker for Fashion Week Online and more!

NKC: Immediately walking in I was taken back by the heavenly look that was felt in the open Chelsea loft of Studio 450. The clean, white aesthetics created such a light, refreshing environment and the sunlight through the many windows was so inviting. I was escorted to my seat by an AMCONYC intern and welcomed to beverages at the Dunkin' Donuts sponsored Blogger's Café. Let me just say, the Blogger's Café was one of the best ideas I've seen during fashion week. It was perfect for press to recharge, grab a cup of coffee and still make time to network. Normally, after my mophie dies I find myself trying to hide in a corner with an outlet. The Blogger's Cafe gave me a chance to rest and still remain in comfort. (Thank You Dunkin' Donuts for understanding my coffee addiction!)

NKC: Sitting front row at the KUR Collection and Éva Michelle Designs gave me a wonderful view. My camera roll went crazy, I had amazing angles of the models, the photographers and other influencers. Seeing the models turn the corner right next to me, quickly gave me a chance to analyze the details of each piece. As the KUR Collection, "Dark Roses" began it was like a quiet storm. The models glided down the runway so fiercely, yet the pieces mostly, made of lace, gently flowed along. Mixed with the ambiance of Studio 450, I got the feeling of mid-Spring in LA. I enjoyed each piece of the collection, (which is rare for me as sometimes I don't always follow the designer's thought process), lace is just one of those techniques that will always capture my attention. Concluding the KUR Collection, Designer, Kasuni Rathnasuriya quickly ran out to greet the audience. Her movements were very swift, but the smile of her face was so genuine, a very humble woman. The KUR Collection is a label that I will continue to watch for.

NKC: Éva Michelle Designs. When selecting shows to attend I purposely selected this designer after doing a little research. I saw that in previous collections, she typically sticks to dresses, prom wear and gowns. Currently, so many designers classify themselves as streetwear and create quick fashions (t-shirts with over-branding or simple accessories). With Éva Michelle Designs, I was excited to see a collection that would focus on detail. I wanted to see intricate stitching and focus on style; pieces contoured to a woman's body. That's exactly what I got. I was electrified when the first piece made of ivory lace (I already stated my love for lace!) hit the runway. From then out the room was filled with sex appeal. Each piece was sexy and confident, but what I liked most about the collection was there was a piece for every woman, for every occasion. She gave us gowns for galas, form fitted mini dresses for a night out, slinky and sultry little black dresses for a date night. Another collection noted for next fashion week and whenever I need to take my sexy appeal to the next level.

NKC: Ahh, the interviews. If you've read any of my editor's note, then you know how I feel about being the spotlight. It's not my thing, but sometimes it has to be done. This interview with Fashion Week Online was one of the more smoother one's I've done. Their hostess, Hanna Tucker is amazing, a real professional. We briefly chatted about my thoughts on the collections, Access by NKC, my outfits for the week and few other things. The live stream is available here to see my interview and other footage.
